Dr. Harrison Perkins | Pastor

He came to OHCC after serving in various pastoral roles in the United Kingdom, his previous call being to serve as associate pastor at London City Presbyterian Church. He is also a visiting lecturer in systematic theology for Edinburgh Theological Seminary and part of the online faculty in church history for Westminster Theological Seminary. He is the author of Reformed Covenant Theology: A Systematic Introduction (Lexham Press 2024), Catholicity and the Covenant of Works (Oxford University Press, 2020), Righteous by Design: Covenantal Merit and Adam’s Original Integrity (2024), a number of popular and academic articles, and has a forthcoming book about the first two chapters of Genesis. He regularly writes articles for Heidelblog and Modern Reformation.
Harrison is a southerner, most of his family living near Birmingham Alabama. He loves books, dark roast coffee, sweet potatoes, and southern barbeque. He is married to Sarah, who is from California. They have one son, Scott, and are thankful to be living now in the Detroit area.

He and his wife Mary have two young boys. Mark works in the medical field and enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, sports, and traveling. One of his favorite Bible passages is Matthew 6:19-33, particularly verses 19-21. Grateful for the gift of Jesus Christ and eternal life through Him, Mark tries to remain mindful that our heart and focus ought to be on the eternal and God’s glory rather than things of this earth. Mark has a passion to learn more about God’s word and theology, to serve others, and for Christian education and missions.

When time and opportunity allow, he loves spending time outdoors enjoying nature.
Greg’s passion is declaring the simplicity of the Gospel and leading people into the deep truths of scripture. As an elder, he oversees Christian education and Missions at Oakland Hills.
Deacons:
Phil Brink
Harrie den Boer | Trustee
Harrie den Boer has served as deacon of OHCC since 2011. He and his wife Sandra, and three girls: Pretoria, Erica, and Gabrielle (who are all now graduated from college and spreading their wings) have been members at OHCC since 2005. He was born and raised in South Africa before his parents and three brothers immigrated to California, where he met Sandra.
Outside of church, he is a VP of Finance, Technology and Engineering at Geisler Co, an industrial distributor. Other than work and church, he kept busy playing volleyball. He played in college for San Diego State University, and has been coaching teenage volleyball teams for over ten years. Knee surgery and the COVID pandemic put his volleyball play on hold recently. However, the pandemic gave birth to a quarantine side-hustle: Protea & Thistle Woodshop. He and Sandra enjoy spending their free time building wood serving products to help people celebrate food and family and gardening.
Harrie shared about his Christian walk, “I was raised in the church by God-fearing parents, and don’t recall a time when I didn’t believe Jesus Christ is Lord of all, including myself. The Lord is working on my heart and slowly making me into His own. I don’t deserve the grace of Jesus Christ, but I am so thankful for His sacrifice and for God’s patience with me. I am also thankful for the opportunity to serve at OHCC and truly appreciate the body of dedicated believers and leaders with whom I get to serve alongside.”
His favorite Bible passage can be found in Psalm 121..
